Hey beauties! I'm back with another FabFitFun unboxing. After receiving my first box last season, I decided to stick with FabFitFun a little bit longer and see how things went! Turns out (spoiler alert) this season's box may just be the best one yet. If you'd like to learn more about everything I was sent this summer, keep on reading.
What is FabFitFun?
FabFitFun is a seasonal subscription service that sends beauty, fashion, fitness, and lifestyle items right to your doorstep. A seasonal subscription will run you $49.99 every three months (shipping is included in the US, and is an additional $8 when shipping to Canada or Puerto Rico), however you can also choose to purchase an annual subscription for $179.99. In addition to saving a few bucks throughout the year, an annual subscription will also unlock a few VIP features like early access to add-ons and more complete box customization. Regardless of your subscription type, though, every FabFitFun box is guaranteed to contain over $200 worth of product.
The Summer Box
This season FabFitFun is has curated a perfectly summery collection of goodies to send our way. Each box will contain 8 items, averaging out to a cost of $6.25 a piece, with quite a bit of variety in what people were sent.
FabFitFun has also partnered with the Wildlife Conservation Society this season to promote awareness of their Give a Sip campaign. Did you know that millions of plastic drinking straws make it into our oceans each year? This plastic waste is deadly to marine life, and since straws can't be recycled, the best thing you can do is reduce your use of them all together! Anyone who pledges to give up using straws through the Give a Sip site will be sent a free metal drinking straw to help them make the switch.
Add-Ons
One of the most popular features of a FabFitFun subscription is the ability to purchase add-ons for your box. Add-ons are deeply discounted products that get shipped out with your seasonal box. As I mentioned before, annual subscribers get first dibs at add-ons, which often results in popular items being sold out by the time the site opens up to regular subscribers. This season in particular the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum was available for purchase at less than half price, and there was NO way regular subscribers ever stood a chance of reserving one.
Still, the options are plentiful, and the prices are usually so amazing that it's tempting to spend another $100 just on add-ons alone. I tried to exercise some amount of self control and narrow my cart down to just a few things.
This first one was actually a very lucky last-minute addition to my box. While the add-on window is open, subscribers can continually add and remove things from their cart, which means that sometimes a sold-out product can become available again in the n-th hour. As a total candle junkie, I couldn't resist snagging this Summer & Rose Rose Quartz Gemstone Candle (
I also grabbed a pack of the Purlisse Coconut + Rice Nourishing Sheet Mask (
Finally I couldn't resist picking up a box of Cocofloss in Cara Cara Orange (
In total I spent an extra $30 in add-ons, but was able to score $88 worth of product! Not too bad if you ask me.
Box Review
So let's move on to the actual box products, shall we? The first item I was actually able to choose. All subscribers could pick between one of two Summer & Rose Beach Towels, or one of two Yumi Kim Train Cases. Knowing that I've been doing more traveling lately, I decided that the Yumi Kim Jettsetter Makeup Train Case ($58) was probably the smarter option. Now, I think paying almost $60 for a makeup bag is kind of insane, but the quality is certainly there. The outer material has a waterproof finish and a super adorable floral pattern that I totally dig. I also like that there are two separate compartments for your brushes and products to keep things organized. It's a great size and honestly something I'll probably get a fair amount of use out of!
Then we move on to skincare! FabFitFun seriously spoiled us this summer with some amazing products for the face and body.
One of the most anticipated products from this season's box was the Foreo Luno Fofo ($89). This travel-friendly version of the incredibly popular cleansing device hasn't even launched to the general public yet. Unlike the Foreo Luna Play, which kicked the bucket after a specific number of uses, the Fofo uses standard AAA batteries that can easily be replaced. The Fofo also introduces skin-sensor technology and is compatible with the new Foreo app, allowing you to customize your device and cleansing routine. To be honest, just getting a Foreo for $50 makes this box worth it for me. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but my hopes are high that it will be amazing!
The next item I was sent was the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel ($45). Subscribers also could have alternately received a haircare product, but I was pretty excited that this was the one I got. I haven't tried any Elemis skincare before, but I've heard good things. I also love chemical exfoliants for reducing fine lines and texture. Again, something I very much look forward to trying.
My second choice item was the JabonerÃa Marianella Hawaiian Black Lava Body Caviar ($48). Other options included a stress relieving muscle gel or a pearl ring. This was pretty much a no brainer for me, as I'm a total sucker for bath and body products. Also, how can one not be intrigued by the idea of Body Caviar? This salt based scrub has a number of amazing ingredients and is also cruelty-free. I definitely look forward to using this the next time I shower!
Finally, all subscribers received the Coola Classic Face Sport Sunscreen SPF 50 White Tea ($32). Considering that this is a summer collection I think including a quality sunscreen was a smart choice. I absolutely love Coola products, however I personally would have preferred to see one of their mineral formulas included instead of this one. Chemical sunscreens have a tendency to irritate the skin on my face, so I may need to pass this along to my husband or a friend to use.
On the makeup front, all subscribers received some kind of Tarte product. You were either sent the Pro-to-Go Eyeshadow Palette and Sex Kitten Eyeliner, or the Tarte Pro-Glow Highlight & Contour Palette ($45). Considering that I already own the full-sized Tarteist Eyeshadow Palette I was incredibly happy to see the Pro-Glow Palette in my box. All of the highlight shades look stunning, and the contour powder seems to suit my light-medium complexion pretty well. Highlighting and contouring palettes aren't the kind of thing I would normally go out and spend money on, so receiving one in a subscription box is something I appreciate. Did I mention it smells like vanilla? I know that may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm totally into it.
And finally, I received two lifestyle items in my summer box. The first was again a variable item. Subscribers either received the Vasanti Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator, a set of resistance bands, or this Minor History Postscript Wallet ($20). I love the color combination on this little wristlet, but if I'm being perfectly honest its almost too small to be practical. It has enough room for your ID and maybe a credit card or two, but that's it. I suppose if you're going to a concert that may be all you need, and it's nice to not carry around bulk. I just also feel like I could break it fairly easily.
The last item I received was this Pier 1 Imports Marble Ring Dish ($14.99). This honestly could not be more up my alley. Gold? Check. Marble? Check. Tiny and adorable? Check. Pretty sure you'll be seeing this guy frequent my Instagram flatlays.

As you can probably guess, this season's box was a total A+ for me. The Foreo by itself already made the purchase worth it, and then you add on the rest of the skincare and the Tarte palette on top of that? Awesome. Now I would be lying if I said that there wasn't a little part of me that's terrified with how amazing this box is that the fall one will be a total let down. I mean, how is FabFitFun going to top this? I suppose the most fair thing to do is to give them the benefit of the doubt and at least let them try! If you're interested in signing up to receive your own FabFitFun boxes, you can Save $10 on your first one with the code FAB10 at checkout!
Just as a heads up, depending on the time you start your subscription, the first box you'll receive may vary. Sometimes you can still get the current season's box, other times you'll receive an Editor's Box that contains products from some of the previous boxes. Your checkout page should clearly state the box you're getting!
