One Year Z-Palette Update

Oh, the Z-Palette. I have to admit, I didn't realize how fun (and addicting) putting one of these together would be. Collectively its the most pricey makeup item I own, but it's also one of the things I reach for the most whenever I'm sitting down to create a fun new eye look. I had held off on starting a palette until last year, when I treated myself to this Extra Large Z-Palette ($28) for my birthday. A few weeks later I sat down and attempted to de-pot products for the first time with relative success, and have been adding to it ever since. Since we're about to hit the year mark, I thought it'd be fun to do a little update and share with you guys all the pans I've depotted and purchased, as well as a few makeup looks I've created with this palette. If you love eyeshadow swatches, get excited, because there's about to be a lot of them!

Now, there are tons of different sizes and styles of Z-Palettes available. I'm personally happy I decided to go with the Extra Large, as it's given me a ton of room to keep adding new shadows and to also accommodate some larger pans of product. However, if you want to create a customizable palette that's a little more purse friendly, you can opt for a small (holds 9 standard eyeshadows) or medium palette (holds 15 standard eyeshadows) instead. Or you could be totally extra and have both, so you can transfer a few shadows out of your large palette into a smaller one when you travel.

In case you'd like to add any of these products to your collection, here's a handy reference guide of everything I shared in the video above! And if you're curious to see these shadows and such in action, I'll share some of my favorite looks I've created from this palette afterward.

If you guys have any recommendations for what I should add to my palette next I would love to hear them! I'm especially interested in trying out some shadows from Makeup Geek, but I know there's a ton to choose from. A little guidance would definitely be appreciated.

Also, I'm totally eyeing this de-potting tool that I just discovered on the Ulta website. I seriously wish I had this a year ago! It's the perfect combination of pretty and practical and I think I need it in my life. I'm also realizing that you can purchase empty pans to fill with things like lipsticks and concealers. Perhaps this is another adventure to embark on in the year to come!

Do you own a Z-Palette? What do you keep in yours?
