As much as I love fall in New England, there is one particular downside to the changing seasons. Every time the weather cools off my face gets completely out of whack. Yes, give it a few months and I will have completed the transformation from full-on summer oil slick to a winter-fied combination complexion, but in the meantime I know I'm going to be a bit out of sorts.

That being said, I've learned a thing or two about skincare over the years, and this time around I'm much better prepared. The secret? I'm keeping an arsenal of face masks on hand for combating whatever crazy turn my face decides to take next. Feeling a bit parched? Got a mask for that. Pores looking clogged? Got a mask for that. Need to calm some irritation and redness? Okay, you get the picture.

While I've got a considerable number of awesome face masks at the ready, today I've got five cream-of-the-crop selections to share that'll help you tackle your different skin concerns. So whether you're going to spend the next month doing damage control like me, or just love having an extra excuse for 20 minutes of me-time each week, hopefully one of these picks will help you out!

Leaders 7 Wonders Kalahari Melon Moisture Mask

If your skin is feeling a bit parched... reach for a luxuriously hydrating sheet mask. They're a little bit more of an investment as a one-shot use product, however they seriously can make a world of difference for your skin. Also, if I'm feeling super extra, I'll do a sheet mask immediately after a detoxifying clay or charcoal mask to give myself that full spa experience. While there are ton of amazing options out there, one of my person favorites are the Leaders 7 Wonders Masks. They're made with a coconut bio cellulose that feels ultra light and clings well to the skin. Not only does this mean you don't have to worry about your mask slipping and sliding all over the place if you want to get up and do things after its applied, but it also really helps the mask ingredients to deeply penetrate the skin and give you their full benefits.

Formula 10.0.6 Get Your Glow On Skin Brightening Mask

If you're looking a little dull or flaky... try a peel off mask to gently exfoliate and brighten your complexion. Now, while I am ride or die for my Boscia Luminizing Black Mask, that sucker is no joke and will wax all your peach fuzz off while it cleans out your pores. If you're looking for something a little bit more gentle and safe for all-over face use, this Formula 10.0.6 Get Your Glow On mask is an excellent option. It smells fruity and delicious, and manages to peel off with a whole lot less pain. Just make sure that you apply a decently thick layer and let it dry completely before you attempt to peel, otherwise you'll end up with a bit of a mess.

Nugg Revitalizing Face Mask

If your skin is looking stressed, irritated, or generally unhappy... try a creamy, soothing mask like this one from nügg. While they have a ton of awesome little pods to offer, the Revitalizing one is my all-time favorite. It's primary ingredient is aloe, which is known for being a miracle worker for healing burned or irritated skin, but also contains peppermint and flax seed to cool and nourish. You can often find the pods individually for sale at Target, or you can also buy them in multipacks if you want to give a few different varieties a whirl!

Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask

If you're dealing with texture, congestion, or skin discoloration... this pumpkin mask will be your new bff. Aside from being the inspiration for the ever popular Pumpkin Spice Latte, pumpkin is a powerhouse skincare ingredient. It's a natural chemical exfoliant, which means that the enzymes it contains will help to resurface your skin. The combination of honey (a natural antiseptic), pumpkin, and glycolic acid in this mask can do everything from preventing breakouts, to smoothing out the complexion, to even minimizing the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation. AND, if that isn't good enough, compared to some other similar masks I've tried, this Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask from Andalou Naturals doesn't burn or cause discomfort. Also it legit smells like Thanksgiving. Can you tell I'm a fan?

Derma E Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal mask

If you're trying to combat blackheads, clogged pores, and other nasties... a good old fashioned clay mask will do the trick. This one from Derma E also harnesses the power of active charcoal to seriously detoxify your skin. Maybe I'm a weirdo, but there is something SO satisfying about watching this mask dry and literally seeing all of the spots of oil and gunk appear as they're being pulled out of your pores. This mask also doubles as a physical exfoliant, and will leave your face feeling ridiculously smooth. That being said, it's also pretty intense, so you may want to avoid if your skin is super sensitive. However, you can also strictly apply it to problem areas opposed to your entire face if you don't need that detoxification everywhere.
