Add a Touch of Glam with Esqido Lashes

Over this past year I've become a bit smitten with falsies. It's not that I wear them on the daily (your girl needs to give her eyes a break), but my glam looks feel totally incomplete without them. There's just no denying that a great pair of false lashes can take your makeup to a whole new level, and once you've appreciated the difference it's hard to ever go back. That being said, falsies have an unfortunate reputation of being immensely frustrating to apply and uncomfortable to wear. Having been there myself, I totally understand why. I used to HATE wearing falsies back in my ballroom days, and never understood how someone could enjoy wearing them with any kind of regularity.

And then I realized I was doing so many things wrong. I wasn't trimming my lashes (rookie mistake #1). I was using glue that irritated my eyes and didn't have a lot of staying power (rookie mistake #2). And I had never tried a pair of lashes that cost more than $3 (not necessarily a mistake, but cheap lashes are sort of the equivalent of hotel coffee. It'll get the job done, but if it's your first experience with coffee it's not necessarily the most fair way to judge whether you like it or not).

Needless to say, with a little bit of practice and a better understanding of how to get the most out of your falsie experience, you can quickly come to appreciate how awesome they can be. Lately I've been on a bit of a kick of experimenting with different brands and styles to see how they compare. So when Esqido, a luxury mink lash brand, recently reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try a pair of their lashes I happily took them up on their offer.

Esqido Midnight Symphony Mink Lashes

Esqido Mink Lashes are known for their ultra-high quality and have been sported by models, celebrities, and influencers alike. While a mink lash is certainly many times more expensive than a synthetic lash you'll find at the drugstore, each pair will last 10 times as long and looks equally luxurious. They much more closely resemble the look of your own natural lashes and hold a superior curl. Esqido's lashes are also made with an ultra-lightweight cotton band that fits comfortably on the eye and makes them easy to wear. Long story short, yes these lashes are a bit of an investment, but the end result is totally worth it.

Esqido Companion Eyelash Glue

I honestly had a hard time choosing which style I wanted to try, because so many of them looked gorgeous. Fortunately the Esqido website has before and after pictures of every style so you can see the type of effect they'll give on the eyes. Ulimately I settled on Midnight Symphony, a full and fluffy lash that brings plenty of drama.

Esqido also sent along their Companion Eyelash Glue to try, which immediately sucked me in with its rose gold packaging. This latex-free formula does a great job of keeping your lashes in place, and has an incredibly convenient brush tip applicator to get just the right amount of glue on the lash band.

Now I can go on and on about these lashes, but I think some pictures will probably speak for themselves. Here's a recent look that I created prior to my applying falsies. After my shadow and liner I applied two coats of the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara.

Even though my natural lashes aren't incredibly short or sparse, they definitely just kind of disappear into my eyeliner and seem almost non-existent when my eyes are open. And then here's what I look like with the lashes on. The difference is kind of insane!

Now, these lashes are extremely full and fluffy, which is my personal preference. However you definitely don't need to go this dramatic if that's not your personal taste. One of the most handy features on the Esqido website is their Lash Guide, which will help you find the perfect pair of lashes for your eye shape and desired look.

Having played around with these lashes a bit, I've got a few tips and some feedback to share. If you're used to wearing lashes with an invisible band, these will definitely be a bit of a change. While I did find the band to be very light and comfortable on the eyes, it still thicker and more noticeable, especially when your eyes are closed. I would definitely recommend wearing black eyeliner if you're going to be wearing these lashes so that the band blends in to your look more seamlessly, especially when you're starting out.

It's also extra important to trim these lashes down to ensure the most comfortable fit. If you've ever had your lash band poking you in the inner corner of the eye, you know how annoying that can be. Always remember to trim from the outer corners of lashes so that the inner corner taper isn't disturbed.

I was also really happy with the Esqido lash glue and felt like I didn't have any issues with my lash band popping up in the corners. Just make sure that you apply an even layer on the band and wait for it to start to turn clear before you pop the lashes on to ensure that they'll stick in place.

All in all I was really pleased with my Esqido experience, and I would definitely consider picking up another pair of their lashes in the future. If you've also tried their lashes before I'd love to hear what your thoughts were and what style you'd recommend. Are you a full-on drama lash wearer, or do you prefer something more subtle and natural. Let us know in the comments below!
