Nails with Nude-itude: Neutral Polishes to Love

From nude, to blush, to off-white - if you want a timeless mani, a neutral polish will never do you wrong. Not only are they incredibly chic, but they are also way more forgiving when a chip appears. They'll go with just about any outfit, are appropriate for just about any occasion, and can be rocked the whole year round.

As much as I absolutely adore all of the candy colored pastel shades of spring time, sometimes a girl just wants to keep it classy. Trust, I have no qualms about wearing a robin's egg blue mani to work, but if I'm feeling like I want to seriously channel my inner #girlboss I'll reach for a posh neutral shade instead. Which brings us to today's post! I've rummaged through my collection to bring you my all-time favorite polishes with nude-itude. Not only are the colors lovely, but the formulas of all of these polishes are seriously spot-on.

A soft gray shade like Julep Winter ($14) can be especially flattering on those with darker skintones. It's less harsh than a stark white polish, while still being bright and clean. This particular formula is on the slightly more sheer side, but can easily be built up to full opacity. If you really want the color to pop, try using a bright white polish as a base.

Zoya's entire Naturel Collection is perhaps my all-time favorite launch of theirs. There are so many amazing nude and neutral shades to choose from, but perhaps one of my most reached for is Rue ($10). It's got blush pink hue with slightly mauvey undertones that would compliment light and dark skin tones alike. It's also perfectly opaque with two coats.

The newest addition to my nail polish collection is the Nails Inc. NailKale Polish in Westbourne Park Road*($14). This is the deepest and most pigmented of all the polishes I'm sharing, while still being muted enough to feel neutral. The color is somewhere between a nude, a pink, and a purple, and would look lovely on both light and dark skintones. If that's not good enough, the NailKale formula is also infused with vitamins and minerals to help strengthen your nails. What's not to love about that?

If you're a fan of sheer but buildable polishes, JINSoon Nostalgia ($18) is right up your alley. A single coat will give you a glossy shine and perfect the look of the nail bed without entirely covering it up. However, you can easily layer it on if you'd like a more opaque finish.

If a true nude is what you're after, look no further than Butter London Patent Shine 10x Shop Girl ($18). This polish is a soft beige with a slightly yellow undertone and goes on completely glossy and opaque. I've had mixed feelings about the Patent Shine 10X Formula since I first picked these up, but I've ultimately decided that the key to making them look their best is to allow the polish to dry completely in between coats. If you're willing to be a little patient, this polish can look really gorgeous!
