As Spring is well under way, the season of all things formal has also started to begin - weddings, prom, showers of various sorts. Whether you've got a single event on the calendar, or months jam packed with back to back weekends of dress wearing occasions, it's nice to have a simple, elegant go-to makeup look to rely on. The tutorial I'm sharing today is basically a notch above an easy everyday makeup look. So, if you're looking to look a little more pretty and polished than usual without being overly glam, this might be right up your alley!

Since so many spring time functions are during the day I thought it would be nice to keep things on the softer side. However, you could easily up the drama for night by smoking out the eyes a little more, adding a bolder lip, falsies, or some touches of glitter. One of the beautiful things about makeup is that little details can totally transform a look, so I totally support personalizing any tutorial to fit your style, or play up your best features!
Also, as someone with oily skin, I gravitate towards long wearing, mattifying products. The combination of that Becca primer and the L'Oreal foundation holds up incredibly well throughout the day, and is one of the best grease fighting combos I've come across in a while. Also, if you need a little bit more protection against smudging and fading, a makeup setting spray might come in handy (this one from L'Oreal is pretty excellent).
Hopefully you enjoyed watching my video and found something useful from it! I still feel like such a newb when it comes to this whole filming myself thing, but I think I'm making improvements (...baby steps). I also am still sort of puzzled by the whole exporting/compressing my final edited video thing, because I shoot my unedited footage in HD but seem to lose A TON of quality in the editing/uploading process. If you've ever filmed/editing/uploaded HD video to Youtube I would more than appreciate your advice/tips. There's been a lot of Googling/trial and error in the past few days, but I'm not getting very far. In the meantime, I've got plenty of written posts in progress that I'm looking forward to sharing with you all in the next couple of days!
