Get your Chocolate Fix with Arnott's Tim Tams*
Anyone who knows me well is probably aware of my serious sweet tooth. Honestly, I'm convinced that I have a second stomach specifically designed to consume anything chocolate regardless of how full my regular stomach seems to be. It should be no surprise, then, to understand my thorough excitement over my first ever BzzAgent campaign - Arnott's Tim Tams. Never heard of a Tim Tam? Neither had I! Don't worry, we haven't been living under a rock (at least not for that reason). Unless you've been lucky enough to travel to the land down under, you may not be familiar with this Aussie treat. Tim Tams are a seriously chocolately cookie that just recently became available in the US and are currently being sold exclusively at Target.
Were they as good as they seemed? I'll let the next picture speak for itself.
It took me only a matter of a few days to get through that first sleeve. Which is terrible (but the most delicious kind of terrible). A cookie/candy hybrid, I found Tim Tams to be relatively addicting. The cookie layers are sort of shortbread like, with a rich fudgey filling sandwiched between them. And of course the whole thing is enrobed in more chocolate, making them totally decadent. The serving size is two cookies, and I did find two to be quite satisfying for one sitting. The only problem is when you need a chocolate fix more than one time a day...
In addition to the original version, Tim Tams are also available in a Chewy Caramel variety, so naturally I had to give those a try as well. It appears that the Caramel version is basically identical to the original Tim Tam, but also has a ribbon of caramel running through it.
While I'm definitely a caramel fan, I think I'm actually partial to the Original version better. Tim Tams have a melt-in-your mouth kind of quality, and in a way I think the chewiness of the caramel took away from that a little. Speaking of melt-in-your-mouth goodness, I was suggested to try dipping these cookies in my tea or coffee. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but I think it would probably taste amazing! I may just have to pick up one last sleeve of the originals to test this out.
So, if you're looking for an indulgent treat, head over to Target and grab yourself a sleeve of Arnott's Tim Tams! They retail for a very reasonable $3.29. There aren't as many cookies per package as some of your other non gourmet cookie brands, however, considering how rich they are a package really should theoretically last you some time.
Have you ever tried Tim Tams before? Are you a fan of the Original or Caramel version? What are your favorite chocolatey treats?
